Complaints
A complaint is a more formal process.
Tip-offs and complaints can be made over the phone or by mail. We review all tip-offs and complaints we receive and take all of them seriously.

You don’t have to provide personal details when contacting us, but it helps if we need further information or to follow up on your issue.

Tip-off and complaint examples
With your help, we can fix problems in the gambling industry and prevent gambling harm.
Incident examples
The following are examples of incidents you may have concerns about:
- bingo or raffles(opens in a new window) not being run correctly
- letting a self-excluded person gamble
- venues unable or refusing to give registered YourPlay(opens in a new window) cards to customers who want them
- getting offers from betting providers(opens in a new window) where you have asked them not to send you such material
- no responsible gambling officer in the poker machine area
- trade promotion lotteries(opens in a new window) not being run correctly.
Things you witness
The following are examples of tip-offs or complaints:
- illegal or underage gambling
- venue staff failing to tell customers who gamble for a long time to take a break
- venues not having YourPlay on all poker machines and not showing mandatory YourPlay signage
- ads or promotions for gambling products that you think might be illegal
- venue staff bringing food or drinks to people gambling in the poker machine area
- allowing customers to use more than one poker machine at a time
- suspected money laundering.
Complaints about companies or people
If there is a venue or organisation that has given you cause for concern, please let us know. The following are examples you may be concerned about:
- pubs and clubs with gambling
- Crown Casino – casino operator
- Tabcorp – wagering and betting operator
- 'The Lottery Corporation' – public lotteries operator and Keno operator
- Lottoland – Keno operator
- Intralot Gaming Services – monitoring licensee
- bookmakers who are registered in Victoria
- wagering (online and telephone betting) providers registered outside of Victoria who are providing gambling services to Victorians.

- inducements
- direct marketing
- deposit limits
- account closure
- betting activity statements and account records
- training requirements
- gambling advertising messaging and taglines.
