We are required to thoroughly investigate the casino operator every five years, as per section 25 of the Casino Control Act 1991(opens in a new window).
As part of these investigations, we form an opinion on the casino operator's:
- suitability to hold the Casino licence
- compliance with Victorian gambling laws and regulations
- compliance with transaction documents regarding the Melbourne Casino Complex.
We must also determine if it is in the public interest for the casino operator to hold the Casino licence. This opinion is formed with regard to public confidence in the:
- credibility
- integrity, and
- stability of casino operations.
