The Gambling Regulation Act 2003 (the Act) bans the publication of any poker machine advertising outside the Gaming Machine Area (GMA).

Poker machine advertising

A venue operator (or a person acting on their behalf) must not publish any poker machine advertising outside the GMA of an approved venue. They may, however, share poker machine advertising with someone who has requested it in writing.

A loyalty scheme provider may share poker machine advertising with someone participating in a loyalty scheme.

A venue operator, or a person acting on their behalf, must not display any signs related to poker machines. This applies unless the sign is:

  • located inside the GMA
  • mainly viewed from inside the GMA.
