Mutual recognition

Other related content

Mutual recognition enables individuals licensed or registered for an occupation in one Australian state or territory to work in another state or territory using their home state licence. Under the Mutual Recognition Act 1992 (Commonwealth), an employee from one Australian state or territory may be deemed to be registered in Victoria where that licence has been deemed the equivalent licence of a Gaming Employee or Casino Special Employee licence.

Following changes to the Mutual Recognition Act 1992 in July 2021, you can work in Victoria as Gaming Industry Employee or Casino Special Employee under the power of your home state licence where your home state is a participating jurisdiction under the Automatic Mutual Recognition (the AMR Scheme).

Under these changes, your licence will be recognised in Victoria based on the participation of your home jurisdiction.
