Community benefit statements - Clubs only

As stated in the Gambling Regulation Act 2003, club venue operators are required to prepare and lodge an audited community benefit statement with the VGCCC for every financial year in which they receive gaming machine revenue.

A community benefit statement verifies whether the community benefit provided by the club is equal to at least 8.33 per cent of its net gaming machine revenue.

On 28 June 2012, the Minister for Gaming approved a Ministerial Order (PDF, 680.67 KB) that applies to community benefit statements for the 2012-2013 financial year and beyond.

Please ensure you retain all source documentations used in relation to the compilation and auditing of your CBS.
The VGCCC will sample several gaming venues each year and conduct a review of the validity, accuracy, and completeness of the CBS. If you are selected for a review you will be contacted by the VGCCC and an onsite visit arranged.

More information

For information about lodging your community benefit statement, please see the Community benefit statement frequently asked questions (PDF, 305.86 KB) and Community benefit statement lodgement instruction. (PDF, 650.43 KB)

Lodge your community benefit statement

To lodge your community benefit statement, you will need to login with your username and password (supplied in the letter that was sent to you) to the online lodgement system.

If you have lost your login details, please complete our contact us form and specify that you need replacement login details in order to complete your statement.

Step 1: Before lodging your statement, ensure that you have all the correct information in order to complete the lodgement (e.g. auditor’s report).

Step 2: Once you have successfully logged into the system, please change your password. Keep a copy of this password, as you will need it later.

Step 3: Your profile screen will appear with your content details. Please check your details, and amend if necessary via the ‘Amend contact details’ link in the top right of the screen.

Step 4: Your profile screen also contains a drop down menu showing your venue(s). Select each venue to access the community benefit statement and then commence entering the details and calculations. You will be required to attach a copy of the auditor’s report so ensure you have an electronic version.

Step 5: You will have the option of checking all your details and printing a copy of your statement. Please note: Once you press ‘submit’ you will not be able to change any information, however you will be able to print a copy of your statement.

Step 6: If you have more than one venue, you will need to repeat the process.

Alternatively, you can print the community benefit statement lodgement form and mail it to:
