More than 160 participants from across Victoria recently joined us in a series of online information sessions to learn more about their obligations and to ask questions of our Compliance and Licensing staff.
The sessions covered the Responsible Gambling Codes of Conduct, YourPlay, venue operators’ financial obligations, the technical requirements of gaming and monitoring equipment and the role of our new Public Health Enforcement team.
Participants actively engaged with our staff as they shared the experiences and challenges they have faced implementing their responsible gambling codes of conduct, completing responsible gambling registers, and understanding the wide range of accounting and auditing requirements, and the rules about the physicality of the gaming machine area.
Those who attended the online information sessions said they gained better knowledge around their responsibilities and would be sharing their valuable learnings with staff and managers at their venues.
“Engaging with our stakeholders in this way helps us understand their challenges, as well as answer any questions they have. We are committed to helping venue operators remain compliant, and we value the opportunity to work together to reduce harm in our communities.” said Veronica Goluza, Manager, Education.
More online sessions will be conducted with confirmed dates soon to be published on our website and in the next edition of VGCCC News.
