With the rollout of Victorian digital driver licences, patrons are using their digital wallets to prove their age or identity (ID).
Gambling providers must follow existing patron identification procedures to verify, record and copy ID details where required.
For example, a gaming venue worker must sight a physical driver licence or alternate acceptable form of ID before issuing a cheque as patrons cannot share a copy of a digital driver licence via the VicRoads or ServiceNow app.
VicRoads does not recommend accepting screen shots of digital driver licences.
