We strongly encourage venue operators to check VGCCC payment invoices to ensure they are legitimate.
A venue operator recently received a fraudulent entitlement payment invoice which requested payment to a false VGCCC bank account.
The VGCCC has not changed banking details.
If you receive a VGCCC invoice, please check to ensure it contains the correct account details – VGCCC Revenue Account.
Do not pay an invoice unless you have confirmed it is legitimate. If you have any doubts about a payment request or suspect an email using our name or logo may not be genuine, contact us on 1300 599 759.
Fraudulent invoices may be identifiable by:
emails sent at odd hours or from international time zones
emails from suspicious, misspelt or unusual email addresses
requests for changes to critical information such as account details or account names
VGCCC branded materials used with unusual details such as incorrect email and website addresses and spelling mistakes
payment details to unauthorised or personal account names.
