As previously advised, gaming taxes due and payable by venue operators for March 2020 were deferred by the Victorian Government. This was to assist venue operators in their management of the impacts of the Coronavirus global pandemic.
The Department of Justice and Community Safety has recently advised the VGCCC that the deferred gaming tax for March 2020 must be collected in June 2021.
The amount of deferred gaming tax for March 2020 is available via the Monitoring System BOS portal, as per the standard monthly process.
On Monday 7 June 2021, this amount, together with the gaming tax due and payable for May 2021, will be swept from each gaming venues nominated bank account.
To ensure the gaming taxes sweep occurs successfully in June 2021, all gaming venue operators need to ensure sufficient funds are available in the nominated bank account to cover both the months gaming tax obligations.
There will be no penalty interest charges on the late payment of March 2020 gaming taxes.
