Intralot Gaming Services (IGS) have introduced the ability for their monitoring system to automatically disable and enable electronic gaming machines (EGMs) in line with gaming room closing and opening times.

This comes following a request from the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission (VGCCC) and will assist venues in complying with their obligations to limit the operation of their gaming room to permitted hours.

While this is a non-mandatory for venues, any decision to opt-in, or not, to the service will be a consideration in the type of regulatory action we take where we detect non-compliance with permitted hours.

To opt-in, venues can contact the IGS service desk to request an application form and submit their scheduled hours of operation. On receipt of the form, IGS will activate the service within 3 business days.

Once the service is active, all EGMs will automatically be disabled and enabled in line with the nominated closing and opening times of the venue.

This functionality does not replace a venue’s obligation to nominate gaming hours in the IGS BOS portal.

Furthermore, where a venue decides to opt-in to this automated service, it is their ultimate responsibility to ensure it complies with all the relevant regulatory requirements around permitted hours of operation.

We encourage all venue operators to opt-in to this automated service, as this will assist in mitigating the risk of non-compliance.
