Online improvements to the gaming industry employee (GIE) renewal form have been made by the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission (VGCCC) making it easier to renew your licence.
Gaming employees must hold a GIE licence to perform certain duties and functions under Victoria’s gambling legislation if they are employed by, or working for a venue operator, the monitoring licensee, or gaming machine services.
The improved form simplifies the applications process by:
- enabling the renewal to be completely lodged online without the applicant having to mail or hand deliver parts of the application
- including the provision to accept individual police checks from Fit2Work, CV Check, Victoria Police and Australian Federal Police
- providing intuitive questions based on the applicants’ responses
- enabling the renewal to be saved and returned to for up to 14 days.
To lodge your renewal today, visit the online GIE renewal application portal.
Please ensure you read the form requirements on the gaming industry employee page before submitting your renewal. Applicants are reminded that renewals cannot be accessed or processed by the VGCCC until all steps are complete.
It is the GIEs responsibility to renew their licence within 2 months of expiry, the date of which is listed on the front of your licence. GIE applicants are reminded to notify the VGCCC if their contact details (including address and email) have changed to ensure any notifications relating to their licence are received.
The current form will remain available for use as part of the transition. At the end of this transition period, only new online application form submissions will be accepted
For more information on the conditions of a GIE licence, visit the licence conditions and duties page.
